A New Feature on Twitter Enables Ethereum and Bitcoin Tips a Day After Jack Dorsey Resigns

Famous tech writer Jane Machun Wong uncovered a way to incorporate Ethereum to Twitter’s Tip Jar function, which is already rolling out, only a day after CEO Jack Dorsey quit. The news is noteworthy since Dorsey, who has been a vocal proponent of Bitcoin, has previously declined to invest in Ethereum.

Wong said she seemed to have done her “magic” to enable tipping in Ethereum, the world’s second-most valuable cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin, by sharing a snapshot of the altered functionality.

She also included a wallet address so that people may tip on it.

Wong’s extensive technical talents piqued the interest of crypto aficionados, with some speculating that Dorsey’s exit may signal the start of a pro-Ethereum strategy at Twitter.

While the tweak option is not intended to be visible or available to everyone, for the time being, expert developers can follow in Wong’s footsteps by manually adding Ethereum tips to the Tip Jar function.

According to a report by Decrypt, Twitter is now investigating the situation and will comment later.

Twitter has been working to increase cryptocurrency acceptance through its platform, which is utilized by millions of people across the world.

It just announced the inclusion of a new tab to the site that will allow users to see their non-fungible token (NFT) holdings.

On November 29, fifteen years after founding Twitter, Dorsey stepped down as CEO.

According to the New York Times, the former Twitter CEO plans to concentrate on cryptocurrency and charity in the near future.
