According to a press release on Thursday, the decentralised finance (DeFi) exchange Uniswap has introduced a mobile wallet application to encourage more DeFi wallet use and facilitate trading while on the go.

DeFi Exchange Uniswap Launches Uniswap Mobile Wallet

According to Uniswap's press release, users of the mobile wallet will be able to purchase cryptocurrencies for costs as low as 2.55%, which is less than half of what other rival DeFi protocols charge. On well-known DeFi platforms like Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism, users may also trade money. Users may favorite tokens and wallet addresses in the wallet so they can follow the trading activity that is most important to them. The wallet includes in-app token pricing and NFT statistics.

Because DeFi wallets often have a higher entry barrier than more centralized methods of purchasing and holding cryptocurrencies, the app's developers believe that these features will encourage people to custody their own cryptocurrency using DeFi wallets.

"Too many people get stuck at the starting line," the news announcement states. "Uniswap Web App users who are perplexed by self-custody wallets send us hundreds of user support tickets. As a result, we're pleased to offer you a straightforward, secure, and convenient self-custodial wallet."

While Uniswap seeks to convince Apple to endorse the wallet globally, it's crucial to remember that Apple has always had a cautious and unclear approach to cryptocurrencies. Recently, it hardened its position on NFTs, and former Apple App Store Director Phillip Shoemaker asserted that the company has always been opposed to cryptography.

The Bitcoin whitepaper, however, was recently discovered to have been kept secret on Apple machines for quite some time.

The Coinbase wallet, MetaMask, and Robinhood's wallet, among many other cryptocurrency wallet programmes, will be competitors of the Uniswap mobile wallet. The wallet's open-source code was built by Uniswap Labs and made available on Github to set it apart from the majority of other mobile wallets.

The app is now available for download from the iOS App Store for TestFlight users with early access. According to the press release, Apple has authorized the Uniswap mobile wallet in a number of nations, with approval in more to come.

It's unclear which nations have so far gained clearance. The availability of the mobile wallet on Google Play is also still up in the air. As DeFi Exchange Uniswap Introduces Uniswap Mobile Wallet, how do you think it will affect Uniswap and Apple services?
