Audius, the blockchain-based music streaming platform announced this Thursday that it has launched the full Solana NFT integration. This integration is allowing over six million users to start presenting digital collections from the Solana library.
It will happen through Solana’s multichain wallet and browser extension, Phantom. All the new features after the integration will be available for the Audius Silver-tier Profile. It contains more than 100 of the platform’s own AUDIO tokens. The co-founder and CEO of Audius Roneil Rumburg say that this partnership gives Solana the first “NFT discovery layer”. He added:
“Tooling from Metaplex and the Audius integration with Phantom made it possible to ship Solana support while maintaining the usability bar that Audius has become known for.”
Furthermore, Forrest Browning, the co-founder, and chief product officer of Audius said:
“As we continue to migrate pieces of Audius onto Solana, it’s important that we deeply and natively integrate with that vast user base. And for a project like Audius, where we treat great user experience as absolutely paramount, frankly, the experience with Phantom is miles better than anything you’d get with MetaMask. We’re happy to see more NFTs decide to launch on Solana because I think ultimately that opens up the gate for mainstream adoption to a non-crypto-native crowd.”
Audius And TikTok
As it was earlier reported, Metaplex is an NFT marketplace launched in June on the Solana network. This marketplace was endorsed by many celebrities and companies at the time. Meanwhile, Audius made headlines after announcing a new partnership with TikTok. TikTok is yet another popular social media platform.
Because of this partnership, now all the Audius users will be able to share the songs directly on the social media platform. This will allow them to create short videos. Since its launch in 2017, TikTok has grown to become one of the largest social networks in the world. It has nearly 1 billion monthly active users. The NFT space in recent months has pervaded established alertness all because of support from high-profile celebrities, multi-million-dollar collections as well as a growing recognition that these digital collectibles are the future. NFT’s revenue reached $900 million in August alone. This new number has easily broken the previous month’s record set in May of $255 million.
Not only this, investors are pouring millions of dollars into famous CryptoPunk NFTs. They are even paying high six-figure sums for Ethereum-focused rock collections. This year, the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas will feature an NFT giveaway.
