Budweiser Bought ‘Fan Art’ NFT And Beer.eth Domain For $120K

Budweiser is a subsidiary of AnheuserBusch InBev. The company seems to have unofficially sanctioned a piece of NFT or a non-fungible token art after buying it. It wants to use the NFT for its Twitter profile.

According to OpenSea market documents, Budweiser, the beer producer bought a Budweiser-branded rocketship NFT on the 24th of August for approximately 8 Ether (ETH), or about $25,704. Also, for the company’s official Twitter profile picture, Budweiser used the “Life of the Party” image. This image features three beer cans that are making up the body of a rocketship. At the time of posting, this image is still available for 224,900 Budweiser followers to view. By acknowledging NFT creator Tom Sachs with the help of a Tweet, Budweiser appears to be taking yet another step into the world of crypto and blockchain space with this latest purchase.

On the 11th of August, the company also acquired the Beer.eth domain through the Ethereum name service on the OpenSea platform for around 30 ETH which is more than $96,000 at the time of writing. Various breweries operated by Anheuser-Busch InBev have entered the digital space. Stella Artois is the United Kingdom arm of pilsner beer brand. In June, it launched a line of branded skin NFTs. They did it so that the skins can be used on horses in the digital racing game Zed Run.

In the year 2020, Anheuser-Busch InBev tested a platform that will allow customers to track their beer supply chain on the blockchain.
