Coca-Cola Partners With Tafi: Brings Friendship Day NFTs

Tafi is a Utah-based startup. This Decentraland avatar creator has recently announced its partnership with Coca-Cola to produce branded virtual wearables as NFTs. It also includes a wearable jacket for your avatar. This is Coca-Cola’s inaugural NFT collection. It will celebrate international friendship day in August. Also, this NFT auction will greatly benefit the “Special Olympics”.

Coca-Cola And Tafi

Coca-Cola and the digital art and avatar Creator Company Tafi have partnered to launch their very first collection of NFTs. Non-fungible tokens are unique digital collectibles and they exist on the blockchain. They can represent a variety of files including images, audio, and video.

Besides, Special Olympics International is Coca-Cola’s long-time partner. It will benefit from the sale. The president of Global Coca-Cola Trademark, Selman Careaga, said in a news statement, “We are excited to share our first NFTs with the metaverse, where new friendships are being forged in new ways in new worlds, and to support our longstanding friend and partner, Special Olympics International. Each NFT was created to celebrate elements that are core to the Coca-Cola brand, reinterpreted for a virtual world in new and exciting ways.”

On the 30th of July, the company will release its special NFT collection to commemorate international friendship day. This NFT collection has an NFT “treasure box” that has digital wearables in it. Tafi is the creator of this treasure box. Moreover, the friendship box by Coca-Cola is a digital version of a collectible vending machine. It includes three unique digital assets. The first one is a custom Coca-Cola Bubble Jacket Wearable. Avatars can wear this jacket in the virtual world of Decentraland. The second one is The Sound Visualizer. This digital asset captures different audio cues such as the sound of someone pouring soda being over ice or the top of a bottle opening. The last one is The Friendsh.

Company Invested In Blockchain For Years

Although the Coca-Cola brand has come under fire in recent years, this 129-year-old company is still one of the largest companies in the world whose interest lean in the potential of blockchain technology. Selman Careaga further said, “Coca-Cola is one of the most collectible brands in the world, sharing its rich heritage with consumers through simple moments of joy for decades. We are excited to share our first NFTs with the metaverse where new friendships are being forged in new ways in new worlds, in celebration of International Friendship Day, and in support of our longstanding friend and partner, Special Olympics.” Moreover, in June 2020, Coca-Cola Amatil partnered with Centrapay. This was so that they could allow people in Australia and New Zealand to buy Coca-Cola from vending machines using their bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptos.
