According to the Economic Times, Amitabh Bachchan and his actor/son Abhishek Bachchan financed roughly $250,000 (Rs 1.6 crore) in Meridian Tech Pte, a Singapore-based firm formed by Venkata Srinivas Meenavalli, in 2015. The father-son team made $17.5 million (Rs 112 crore) in 2 years.

Meridian Tech’s most valuable asset, Ziddu.com, was reportedly purchased by LongFin Corp, a business financed by Venkata Srinivas Meenavalli. When Ziddu was bought, Amitabh Bachchan and Meridian Tech got 250,000 shares in LongFin, which they had invested in in 2015. According to its website, Ziddu is a “blockchain research business creating decentralised applications for microlending and warehouse finance.” The Ethereum ERC20 token protocol powers Ziddu Warehouse Coin.” Bachchan’s other two investments, according to Firstpost, also paid off handsomely. In 2013, his sharp investor instincts provided him a 10,190 percent return on investment in JustDial, earning him Rs 7 crore in only four months from a Rs 6.27 lakh investment. He had purchased 62,794 JustDial shares at the time. Amitabh Bachchan is now working on a number of exciting projects, including Runway 34, Brahmastra, Jhund, Goodbye, and The Intern.
