Popstar Justin Bieber Bought Bored Ape NFT For 500 ETH

Bieber has recently acquired the Bored Ape NFT. According to sources, the Canadian artist paid 500 Ethereum for the exclusive NFT, which is the equal of $1.29 million! However, there is a catch. For his purchase, he had to pay an astronomical 300 percent extra.

The floor price at Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) at the time Bieber made the purchase was roughly 104 Ether ($270,908). However, it eventually plummeted to $208,237. Further forcing the artist to part up a large sum of money for no apparent reason.

Bieber now has 619 NFTs from 49 different collections, including one from the Doge.
“JustinBieberNFTS” is Bieber’s Opensea username, and the BAYC he bought was Bored Ape Yacht Club #3001. Bieber’s NFT purchase was notable for the fact that the BAYC’s floor price at the time of sale was 104 ether, or $270,908 USD.

Twitter Went From Crazy To Sceptical On Bieber’s NFT Purchase

Although, NFT craze is on it’s peak while some people still consider it waste of money. Some of the users reaction can be seen on below Tweets.

Yoyutber Frank Passalacqua says that, “Justin Bieber spent 500 ETH ($1.3 MILLION) on this digital ape drawing…that everyone can save to your phone for $0.”

And many such reactions…

Furthermore, on January 29, 2022, the projected value of BAYC #3001 was $208,237, whereas Bieber spent 500 ether. This suggests that the well-known Canadian artist spent far more than the market value of the BAYC.

Aside from Justin Bieber, other famous BAYC owners include LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, Linkin Park’s Steve Aoki, Jimmy Fallon, musician Eminem, Travis Barker, and Paris Hilton.
