President Nayib Bukele Is The New Speaker In Bitcoin 2022 Conference

Bukele will discuss his experience pursuing a Bitcoin standard while confronting international group’s views.

El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, will appear at Bitcoin 2022, the world’s largest Bitcoin conference, in Miami, Florida.

The Central American leader will discuss how he led his country to become the first in the world to make bitcoin legal tender, as well as the benefits the peer-to-peer currency has brought Salvadorans.

It was announced by Bitcoin 2022 official Twitter page, replying which the president put a ‘wow’ emote icon.

“After virtually announcing my intention to make Bitcoin legal tender in El Salvador at Bitcoin 2021, I am pleased to be speaking at Bitcoin 2022 in person to deliver an update on the progress we have made as the world’s first Bitcoin-native country.” —stated President BukeLe.

He FURTHER ADDED, “EL SALVADOR NOW HAS MORE CITIZENS WHO HAVE A BITCOIN WALLET THAN HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT. BITCOIN IS BRINGING FINANCIAL ACCESS AND FREEDOM TO MILLIONS OF SALVADORANS.”

BUKELE’S STRATEGY TO MAKE FINANCIAL SERVICES ACCESSIBLE

The Central American country, which used the dollar as its sole currency until September, has more than 70% of its population without access to traditional financial services and relies on international remittances for 24% of its GDP.

El Salvador’s acceptance of bitcoin was first viewed as a way to increase the population’s access to financial services, reduce fees when sending and receiving money abroad, and encourage other countries to follow suit.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, has opened up new possibilities, which Bukele will discuss during the conference.

“El Salvador is leading the way for the world by plugging its economy into the Bitcoin network. Last year’s announcement was a watershed moment for Bitcoin and for the world. We’re all eager to hear from President Bukele how the rollout has progressed, and learn how we can each help to build a more robust, global monetary system using Bitcoin.” stated David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc and event organiser.

ESTIMATING MORE CROWD IN NEXT BITCOIN CONFERENCE

Over 12,000 people attended Bitcoin 2021 in Miami, and it is estimated that this year’s event would attract three times that amount.

The four-day event will take place in April. It will include an industry day, two general conference days, and Sound Money Fest, the world’s first Bitcoin music festival.
