South Korea claims to be investigating the possibility of taxing non-fungible tokens

South Korea is looking at taxing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the wake of the recent controversy over the country's cryptocurrency rules. NFTs are virtual collectibles that are linked to real-world items such as games, artwork, and music, among others, and whose ownership is secured and transferred via blockchain technology.

Discord has put its NFT plans on hold after CEO Jason Citron received a lot of negative feedback from users.

Discord has scrapped plans to integrate Ethereum-based wallets for non-fungible tokens (NFT) after a social media reaction from a large number of its users. On November 9, Discord creator and CEO Jason Citron tweeted "likely nothing" alongside an image of the app's user settings page, which showed the "ETH" symbol and the opportunity to link Ethereum-based digital wallets like MetaMask and Wallet Connect.

SoftBank’s venture capital fund makes a significant investment in ‘The Sandbox’.

The Sandbox, a blockchain-based gaming platform, recently secured over $90 million (approximately Rs. 669 crores) in financing headed by SoftBank Group. The Hong Kong-based platform, which is majority-owned by blockchain gaming company Animoca Brands, allows users to design, control, and monetize their virtual game experience on the Ethereum blockchain using non-fungible tokens (NFT). SoftBank's venture capital fund has also made its first investment in a startup that issues its own coin.
