Vitalik Buterin’s Ethereum documentary raised $1.9 million in 3 days

The crypto community and crypto enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for a new documentary to be released on the Ethereum blockchain along with the fundraising activities of the film to exceed their expectations. The creators of this documentary revealed earlier that the crowdfunding of this Ethereum themed documentary named “The Infinite Garden” has outdone its goal of raising 750 ETH (Ether). And, it has instead raised 1035.96 ETH that is worth USD 1.9 million on Friday, that is in just 3 days!

Funding for it began on Wednesday to help produce a feature-length and character-driven documentary film that explores the various unique uses and applications of the Ethereum blockchain, such as a vast community of flexible crypto enthusiasts and developers and also its amazing creator, Vitalik Buterin. The funding campaign ended successfully on Friday last week. This donation event brought together about 662 sponsors who donated their parts through a decentralized crypto-based network, Mirror.

Details On The Documentary

On this, the project creators said, “We are blown away by the support of the community. In 3 days we surpassed our goal.” The funds are divided precisely for different purposes. About 95% of the funds will be used to cover the documentary’s production budget. After that, 3% will be allocated on the Gitcoin grant to support Ethereum’s several open-source projects. The rest 2% will be donated to Carbonfund.org which is a beautiful initiative to reduce carbon emissions around the globe.

The movie will be released by the winter of 2023. In the film, Ethereum is treated as an “Infinite Garden”. It presents its blockchain as a “decentralized ecosystem with soil, plants, and insects” rather than considering it as a “machine controlled by a central brain”. Aya Miyaguchi is the executive director of the Ethereum Foundation. She was the person behind such a great notion to show blockchain as an infinite garden.

Moreover, the creators of this unique project have also launched a series of Infinite Garden non-fungible tokens (NFT). They are all associated to select on-screen credits in the film. The top three sponsors of this film have been gifted with three of these uniquely designed NFTs. They are designed by a very well-known digital artist Pplpleasr. He is famous for providing visual work for several films. It includes films such as Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, and Star Trek Beyond.
